Playoffs.... Maybe!
June 2016

With the regular season rapidly running down, the Griffins have had a very busy week with games in Kahnawake last Sunday and Nepean on Wednesday and more to come with a season closing home and home series tonight and Sunday against the Kahnawake Hunters! Last Sunday despite leading 5-1 and 10-7 at the period breaks the Griffins dropped a tough 13-12 decision against the hometown Hunters. On Wednesday, the Griffins bounced back against Nepean with a 15 - 10 victory, to sweep the season series. In additional news, the Griffins acquired five year veteran defender, 21 year old Greg MacKenzie from the Knights for future consideration. Greg will add sound veteran depth to an already solid D group.

With the last three playoff spots still up for grabs, there are four teams scrambling not to be the one left out. With Kahnawake, Brampton, Markham and Gloucester still in the hunt, the Griffins really need the bear down to take at least one more victory from the tough Hunters crew. Meanwhile Brampton is playing three games in three nights because of a make-up game against Markham after their home Arena was severely damaged by fire last month. With games against the Gaels, Mississauga and Markham, they remain in the driver's seat if they can take two out of three games! Markham in the meantime, must look at winning their Monday match-up with Brampton in order to have any hope of advancing ... this after squandering a five goal advantage to Brampton in last week's loss. For the Hunters everything remains open ... a sweep of the Griffins puts them in and even a split would likely see them make it to three Far East Division teams in the playoffs again in 2016. This promises to be one HOT weekend to close out the season both inside and outside the arena!

Griffins Win home opener against the Hunters
April 2015
The Griffins
started their season off right with a win. Leading the way was Aaron Forester, who had a big night tallying 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points. The Griffins came out strong in the second leading by four goals headed into the third period, but the Hunters weren't phased and came out firing in the third tallying four un answered goals to tie the game at 11. With a penalty called in the last few minutes of the third period, our chances looked slim but with under a minute left in the period Nick Findlay scored a shorthanded breakaway to win the game 12 - 11.

Conditioning and Development camps
MARCH 2015
The Griffins JR B Club would like to announce the schedule for their Dome Conditioning and Development camps in February and March. The direction of these camps will focus on conditioning with an emphasis on the individual and team skill development required to play lacrosse at a higher level.

Participants will have a head start on the skills and drills they will need at whatever chosen level they pursue in 2015, be that JR B, JR C, Intermediate or Midget. The JR B coaching staff will concentrate these sessions on exposing the participants to JR B level competitive situations that will allow all players to improve their skill level while developing an understanding of the requirements of eventually playing JR lacrosse!
